On 17th May the stand "Stand up to Aids" was buid in the associations meeting that is held yearly to celebrate the AIDS Memorial. The meeting was at Catedral's Square and had a great attendance. A lot of people participated in our campaign and soon their photographs will be uploaded in the virtual mosaic of our home page.
Like every year, we would like to thank sincerely "Projecte dels Noms - Hispanosida" for their dedication and effort to organize the AIDS Memorial in Barcelona in its 15th edition.
On 30th November, 1st December (Fight Against Aids International Day) and 2nd December the Fundació went to the street with the sensibilization campaign Stand up to aids.
We built a wonderful stand in Palau Robert gardens where everyone could take a self-portrait to support our cause, in a symbolic gesture to support the Fundació and those suffering HIV/aids. The message was clear: We all are positives, you are not alone!
Lots of people participated and you can already see their photographs added to the mosaic uploaded in the first page of our website (www.flsida.org). You will see that our public couidn't have benn more heterogeneous: men, women, old and young, locals and tourists... As it must be!
The stand will appear in another places during 2008, we will keep you informed and we'll be waiting for your visits wherever we are. And if not, you can also send us your photo by e-mail to donemlacara@flsida.org.
1st December; everything is ready to start the charity concert we've been preparing for a year. Artists tune their instruments, Leonor makes herself up, Manel touches the script up, journalists are already here...
We are late but the hall is filling up fast and, ready to explode, we tell Roger to start the show. Behind the scenes, Rafa calms me down.
The hall is full to bursting. Roger Mas breaks the ice with some themes from his "Mística Domèstica". After, Carlos Goñi shows us once again that Revólver hasn't gone downhill over the years; the enthusiasm of hundreds of fans who have come to see him has rubbed of on everyone.
Manel Fuentes, great dealer of the concert, appears between one group and the other, providing entertainment and lightning the Fundació up as the centre of the party; friends, we should support the cause all the year, not only tonight!
Leonor Watling and Marlango add a touch of glam to the party; their music captivates the audience as the singer's eyes do! The crucial moment of the night arrives with La Unión; with a magic Rafa Sánchez, with an incredible energy, each song makes everybody dance. Sudenly I look to the scene and realize that Rafa has asked Dr. Jou to follow him. Just for a while, he becomes our particular "hombre lobo en parís".
During the concert, the Fundació counts on the support messages of people and artists such as Miguel Bosé, Alejandro Sanz, Andreu Buenafuente, Toni Albà, Toni Soler... videos reminds us our final goal; we are not fighting alone.
Manel Fuentes closes the party with his group imitating Bruce Springsteen. But before we raffle a trip to Caribe (our volunteers selled lots of tickets during the night) and it goes to one of the members of our administrative staff, Maria. Congratulate her because we are not joking, Maria will live under palmtrees for a week!
I have to thank everybody, from the first to the last one;
Yann, Pepe, people from The Project (Joan, Sergi, Dante, Xènia, Sofia, Sandra, Joana...), La Unión (Rafa, Luis, Mario, Fermín and Millán), Revólver (Carlos, Cuco and Red), Roger Mas (all musicians, Roger, Carles, Jordi, Pepo...), Marlango (Leonor, Uma, Alejandro, Oscar and Cato), Manel Fuentes and his group, Bikini (Jorge, Sandra...), RLM staff (Rosa, Liliana...), Laura from Telpir, SET-UP, media who have collaborated, Qüestions (Xavi, Tina), Gon and Gerard for always being there... Albert and Ventu for leting me try. And I'm sure I forget names...
