Barcelona inaugurated the Mobile World Centre on 14th February. It is the first permanent exhibition and interactive space featuring the world of mobile technology, and which allows the public to get to see and experience the latest developments in this field. Thanks to this space, the Mobile World Capital Barcelona (MWCB) offers citizens a pioneering gateway to the world of mobile solutions, whilst giving companies a unique exchange platform where they can interact with users.
The Mobile World Centre is one of the four pillars of the Mobile World Capital Barcelona, a project awarded to the city in 2011 after competing with over 30 cities from around the world.
The Mobile World Centre Espacio Movistar houses a permanent exhibition called mWorld. It is a space that is open to the public and free to go inside, where you can see and experience the latest technology, applications and innovations in the area of mobility.
One of the projects that are exhibited is an application that has been developed by the Fight against AIDS Foundation for Apple and Android devices that facilitates clinical management of HIV INFECTION AND HEPATITIS. This application offers the possibility of accessing, instantly and simple to permanently updated information on mutations of HIV and hepatitis B and C that can produce resistance to antiviral therapies.
It has been developed by the world's leading experts in this area and edited by the Foundation Fighting AIDS with support from MSD, Gilead and BMS. It is available at the Apple Store and Android Market.
